Teddy Bear Drive at Rady Children’s Hospital
Due to public health and safety concerns, we will not be hosting our traditional in-person events for the remainder of the year and instead are shifting to a virtual, online format. We hope you will stay committed with us by making a donation to the Teddy Bear Drive online here through the HDSA. During these uncertain times, one thing that remains certain is this: the need to fund lifesaving treatments for San Diego’s sickest kids never lets up. The children and families relying on Rady Children’s still need us, so please consider showing your support and making a donation of any size.
Description
For 30 years, the law enforcement community has supported the efforts of Rady Children’s Hospital here in San Diego. The goal has always been the same: to the ease suffering of and provide comfort to the patients and families receiving care at Rady Children’s.
What started with Coronado Police Department’s Officer Brian Hardy providing teddy bears to children undergoing treatment at the hospital has grown into a year-round fundraising campaign with more than 20 local, state, and federal agencies supporting the hospital through the Teddy Bear Drive. These fundraising efforts provide thousands of teddy bears and toys to patients while also funding the Bereavement Program, Bedtime Carts, and other crucial hospital programs intended to ease suffering and provide comfort to patients and families.
Your support of these efforts in years past has been instrumental in making a real impact for San Diego’s sickest kids. While 2020 has seen unprecedented events across our nation and world that have significantly impacted our medical institutions and the Teddy Bear Drive, we remain committed to supporting Rady Children’s and the valuable work they are doing to keep our children safe and healthy.
