Member Roster Policy
The San Diego County Honorary Deputy Sheriffs' Association provides a private Member Roster as a service to active HDSA members. The purpose of the roster is to help members connect with one another, strengthen professional and community relationships, and support the fellowship and civic spirit of the Association.
The Member Roster is intended solely for use by active HDSA members and authorized Association administrators. It is not a public directory and is not available to the general public.
Participation Is Voluntary
Participation in the Member Roster is voluntary. Members may choose whether to provide information for inclusion in the roster. Members may also request that their listing be updated, corrected, or removed at any time.
By submitting information for the Member Roster, a member authorizes HDSA to display the submitted information within the secure, members-only section of the HDSA website.
Information That May Be Included
Members who choose to participate may provide information such as:
Name
Business or organization name
Title or position
Business category
Business address
Phone number
Email address
Website
Brief business description
Optional photo or logo
Members should only submit information they are comfortable sharing with other active HDSA members.
Members-Only Access
The Member Roster is restricted to active HDSA members with approved website access. Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and may not share their account access with others.
HDSA reserves the right to suspend or remove roster access if an account is misused, shared with unauthorized individuals, or used in a manner inconsistent with this policy or the values of the Association.
Appropriate Use of the Roster
The Member Roster is provided for respectful member-to-member connection and communication. Members may use the roster to identify fellow members, learn about their businesses and professional backgrounds, and make appropriate individual contact.
The roster may not be used for mass solicitation, bulk email campaigns, automated scraping, list harvesting, resale, political messaging, or any other use unrelated to legitimate HDSA member engagement.
Members may not copy, export, publish, distribute, or share roster information outside the Association without prior written authorization from HDSA.
Review and Approval
HDSA may review roster submissions and profile updates before they are published. HDSA reserves the right to edit, decline, suspend, or remove any listing that is incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, inconsistent with Association standards, or otherwise not suitable for the Member Roster.
Accuracy of Information
Members are responsible for ensuring that the information they submit is accurate and current. HDSA does not independently verify all business, professional, or contact information submitted by members and is not responsible for errors, omissions, or outdated information in individual listings.
Privacy and Security
HDSA takes reasonable steps to restrict access to the Member Roster and protect member information. However, no website or online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Members should use discretion when deciding what information to submit for inclusion.
Members who believe their roster information has been accessed or used improperly should contact HDSA promptly.
No Law Enforcement Authority
Inclusion in the Member Roster does not confer, imply, or represent any law enforcement authority, police powers, official agency role, or authority to act on behalf of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office or any municipal police department.
HDSA members are civic and community supporters of the Association’s mission. The Association is governed by its own Board of Directors and operates separately from law enforcement agencies.
Changes to This Policy
HDSA may update this Member Roster Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Member Roster after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
